Shenmue Creator Interested In Crowdfunding
Yu Suzuki, creator of the Shenmue games, told French reporter Sebastien-Abdelhamid that he was interested in finishing the Shenmue series with a third entry.
The only catch? The third entry, if it does come to light, likely won’t end up being a game. Instead, Suzuki has expressed more interest in finishing the series via anime or manga.
One of the most famous unfinished works may see an end soon, though, so if you’re interested, be sure to keep an open ear.
Pokemon Announcement On 1/8/13?
Serebii has reported that a Japanese ad for Pokemon Black/White 2 has a teaser image that says an announcement is going to be made on January 8th. There are no hints anywhere as to what this announcement is or even what game it is about (remember, there is a new Mystery Dungeon title coming), so we’ll just have to wait and see on the 8th just what Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are planning!
Is Muramasa For PS Vita On Its Way To America?
Originally only scheduled for a Japan release, it seems Sony’s own blog may have accidentally outed the game, putting it on a list of Most Anticipated Games before pulling the poll quickly and removing Muramasa entirely from the listing.
Perhaps it’s a fluke, but perhaps it’s also a hint of a great game to come to the rather dry PS Vita listing?
Mirror’s Edge 2 In Development?
After EA’s vice president stated in an interview that he doesn’t want DICE to simply be regarded for Battlefield, former DICE executive producer and current ngmoco general manager Ben Cousins went to twitter to say,
“It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE.”
Whether or not this is true is not completely known at this time, but there have been numerous other sightings of development around. EA still declines to comment.
LA Noire Developer Has New Title Schedule For 2015
KMM Interactive (aka Team Bondi) is planning work on a new game titled Whore of the Orient, a similar narrative-based game with supposedly similar story-emphasized aspects that won’t begin full production until 2013. According to Kotaku, speculation is that the game will be released on the next-gen consoles and will likely be more linear and focused than large and expansive, but will still use the motion capture that set LA Noire apart from other games.
Many are still skeptical about the timeframe of the game, especially considering it took seven years to release LA Noire, but the 1930s Shanghai thriller still might possibly make that timeframe if the game is slightly more constrained than the sandbox behemoth that LA Noire was.
Not much else is known about the title, other than that the team is looking for some new prospective talent to help with development of the game.
Rumor: Muramasa: The Demon Blade On Vita May Have Four New Characters?
Japan-based gaming blog Game no Hanashi has reported that four exclusive new characters will be on the Vita version of Muramasa: The Demon Blade. While this hasn’t been confirmed by outside sources yet, the blog has been pretty reliable reporting in the past so the news has been taken seriously in the community.
Famitsu will supposedly have more in an upcoming issue.
