Minecraft has sold 8 million copies on PC!

If you don’t know what 0x10c is, it’s Notch’s new game! The creator of Minecraft talked with PC Gamer about 0x10c and how he wants it to feel like Firefly.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Tops 1,000,000 Units Sold
Today, Microsoft announced that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has officially surpassed 1 million units sold. Impressive.
The game is also said to have logged about 5.2 million total online hours, and 4 million multiplayer sessions, and over 2.4 million multiplayer hours. If you want to grab Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, it will cost you 1600 Microsoft Points.
360 Arcade Minecraft Destroys Sales Records
Microsoft have already reported that the 360 Arcade version of Minecraft has already sold more than any other Arcade game of all time in under 24 hours. Official numbers weren’t released, but an estimated 400,000 users have downloaded and are playing the game. The previous best-selling first-24 hour Arcade title was Trials Evolution.
Notch’s New Game Is Really Called 0x10c
You know Notch’s new game, right? Well, the one that was supposedly called Mars Effect, but was an obvious April Fools joke? Well, it’s real, and it looks like it has a new name.
It looks like Mojang will be going with the name, 0x10c, according to a tweet on Notch’s Twitter. Yeah, it’s an error code. Oh, and it’s still going to be a Firefly-inspired space game. Mojang hasn’t released any other info on the game yet, so we’re hoping to see more of it in the future. Here’s the official website.

Notch’s New Game Will Be Titled Mars Effect
Not too long ago, Markus “Notch” Persson said that he wanted to look into the possibility of a Firefly-inspired sandbox game. Well, it looks like it was true. Mojang launched a new website today revealing the new title.
“After playing around with names like ‘Elight’, ‘Wind Commander’, and ‘Steve Online’, we finally settled on the very catchy name ‘Mars Effect’,” —Notch comments on the Mars Effect’s title
