Nintendo of America Register Fire Emblem Domain, Hopes For NA Release

For those of you who pay attention to the best selling Fire Emblem series, it has been hauntingly quiet in regards to Awakening. The game is seeing widespread success in Japan already, and Nintendo of Europe quickly registered as much as it could regarding the game and announced it everywhere it could. Nintendo of America has been startlingly quiet on the subject of bringing it to American shores. Now, however, it’s been found that Nintendo of America has registered the domain name fireemblemawakening.com, igniting some hope that the game sees American release.

Considering Fire Emblem is one of Nintendo’s main franchises and they used The Sacred Stones as a game available for the 3DS Ambassador program, one would certainly hope Nintendo was smart enough to bring the SRPG over to North America.

Friends Can Help You Out In Fire Emblem: Awakening

Although the feature only applies toward skirmishes and not story-related missions, a friend can dual-tag you and exchange units with you to help you out in battle. It’s also rumored the game will support a StreetPass feature for the My Unit function, exchanging side stories and maps as well.

So far, Japan will get the game on April 19, and a European release has been confirmed, but the issue has been silent in the NA region.

Fire Emblem: Awakening gets new Nintendo Direct Trailer

With more Nintendo news, Fire Emblem: Awakening also saw a new trailer. The new cinematics are very reminiscent of the Gamecube and Wii games but the gameplay appears all new, a sort of hybrid of the console versions with the handheld style. It launches in April in Japan, hopefully to hear more on the game from NoA before that time!

Intelligent Systems have added over 40 character classes including mage, cavalier, cleric, and tactician. As usual, character class will be upgradable, but you will also be able to change class later in the game.

There are two separate difficulty modes. One is “Traditional Mode” and “Casual Mode”, where characters either have permanent death in battle (traditional) or revive if fallen at the end of a battle (casual). The second set includes three different battle difficulties- normal, hard, and lunatic.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is set for April 19 in Japan!

Similar to the Japan-only Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, Awakening will feature two main characters. Crom is the Prince of the Iris Kingdom and is a Lord class, wielding a Falchion blade. The player makes his/her own character, choosing gender, class, and other features.

Awakening also features a free map system, where you can battle and shop on a world map similar to The Sacred Stones.

Two sleeping dragons – one a sacred ally of mankind, the other its sworn destroyer. Two heroes marked with the symbols of the dragons. Their meeting heralds the dragons’ awakening – and the world’s ending.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is slated for an April 19 release in Japan.
