World of Warcraft Servers Up for Charity Auction

Blizzard is selling around 2,000 retired HP p-Class server blades, each one with a transparent case, etched with the WoW logo, marked with the name of the realm it used to host, and signatures from the game’s developers.

Blizzard will donate 100% of the proceeds after auction expenses to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Drunken MoogleBoss Battles Charity Video Game Marathon for Child’s Play

December 16th, BossBattles.org is having their second annual gaming marathon charity for Child’s Play. Rob and Jake will be playing video games, performing challenges, drinkin’ dranks, and giving away prizes! All the action can be viewed live on their UStream. Checkpoints will be set up where events will trigger and prizes will be won when donations (or other goals) are reached. All donations raised will go straight to Child’s Play. The goal for this year is to raise $10,000.

The Drunken Moogle has made eight brand new drinks, with themes from Minecraft and Castle Crashers, which will debut during the marathon.

So come and hang out for a bit! Donate, play games, talk with the team, watch fun challenges and win cool prizes! The weekend will be tons of fun.

Humble Indie Bundle Makes 1.8 Million

The Humble Indie Bundle allowed consumers to pay a price of their choosing for five top indie games while supporting charitable causes at the same time.

This promotion has now ended and the results are amazing. The first Humble Indie Pack raked in $1,080,964. The latest Humble Indie Pack has made a total of $1,823,1446.66. A total of 232,849 purchases were made and the average purchase was around $7.83. The top contributor was Nexus Scorpion, who gave $6,132.96 to the cause.

The administrators of the whole event promise a more organized and comprehensive donation breakdown at a later date but, here is the current breakdown. A huge congratulations and thank you goes out to everyone who participated in this grand event.

On October 16, 2010, a team of editors at IGN will stay awake for 24 hours and play video games for Extra Life.

Extra Life is a charity event that is raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network.
