SteelSeries Black Ops 2 Mouse Review
By Owen Workman
Let me preface this review by saying that my previous mouse before SteelSeries’ was an old HP mouse from god knows what year- to give you a bearing on how old it is, it’s still got a trackball. That alone should let you know how much of an improvement this mouse was for me.
The SteelSeries Black Ops 2 mouse is a part of a group of SteelSeries game-related peripherals- we’ve reviewed some before. As we at VGN have come to expect, SteelSeries blows the doors off yet again.
Call Of Duty Makes $500 Million In First Day Sales
Activision announced today that the total first day sales have proven that Black Ops II and the Call of Duty series remain the biggest selling name of the year, with over half a billion dollars in sales just within the first 24 hours.
“With first day sales of over half a billion dollars worldwide, we believe Call of Duty is the biggest entertainment launch of the year for the fourth year in a row,” said Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard’s CEO. “Life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise have exceeded worldwide theatrical box office receipts for “Harry Potter” and “Star Wars,” the two most successful movie franchises of all time. Given the challenged macro-economic environment, we remain cautious about the balance of 2012 and 2013.”
The game is expected to continue selling high throughout the rest of the year due to the numerous holidays coming up, with more of the DLC Season Passes to also contribute to further sales numbers as well.
Black Ops 2 disk read errors?
If you’re planning on buying a hard copy of Black Ops 2 you might want to wait. It seems that some retail copies have the wrong files on them. A few Steam users are reporting that their second disk is actually Mass Effect 2. Now if this happen on Steam you could just simply let Steam download the missing files after you have the game linked to your account. Not sure how EA and Treyarch will deal with this for console users.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Villain Trailer
A new Black Ops II trailer debuted today displaying your opponents in the game, along with an appearance from a former comrade being confronted by what appears to be the main antagonist, Raul Menendez. What could this all mean?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 To Be Wii U Launch Title
Leaked images of the upcoming Nintendo Gamer magazine reveal that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will launch with the Wii U later this year.
Neither Activision or Nintendo spoke a word about this last week at E3 and no Gamepad functionality has been announced. But it makes sense that a full-scale Call of Duty would appear on the Wii U, seeing as both companies are big fans of making massive amounts of money. Putting one of the most successful franchises in entertainment history on the successor to gaming’s highest selling hardware only seems logical.
Nintendo still has yet to reveal a launch date or price for the Wii U. But Black Ops 2 is already scheduled to release on November 13th on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC later this year, so can we expect a launch window around this time? Let’s hope so.
