Zone of the Enders HD Collection comes with 2nd Runner Special Edition:

In a bit of a surprising twist, Kojima Productions decided to include 2nd Runner’s Special Edition with the Zone of the Enders HD Collection. Kojima himself took a picture of the game running in his studio to confirm this.

Zone of the Enders 2nd Runner Special Edition has extra cutscenes, more difficulty modes, and additional missions to play.

And it’s being developed by Kojima Productions. And it’s oriented towards high-end consoles and PC.

Kojima Productions is hiring new staff in order to accommodate the project, looking for programmers and artists in California and Japan. The little information available provides some hidden artwork as well, potentially from the game coming up. Want to get hired? Check out the listings here. A little bit (a lot) of Dynasty Warriors Vs. Samurai Warriors:

No, this is not the same game as the Warriors Orochi series (though, arguably, you could say that it is essentially the same thing given that it’s another Warriors game) but another mash-up between Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors is going to hit Japan on the 3DS pretty soon, but there hasn’t been any word on bringing it over to America and it’s pretty much unheard of across the seas. So, consider this an infographic:

You choose a warrior from a side and you play as that warrior in a battle between the realms. There are still all the factions you could imagine, but now many sides have taken the same goals even with existing rivalries. Dynasty Warriors characters will stay allied to other Dynasty Warriors characters and vice versa on Samurai Warriors’ side.

You can also create a custom general to lead into the battle, choosing a gender, face, body, armor, motions (style), voice style, and musou. There will likely be DLC for the game, though what type of DLC is entirely speculation.

It has also been confirmed that Ryu Hayabusa and Ayane from the Ninja Gaiden series will appear in the game as well, taking their own faction.

The game is scheduled for April 26 in Japan, with no word about a release across the sea, even to Europe.

Fire Emblem: Awakening gets new Nintendo Direct Trailer

With more Nintendo news, Fire Emblem: Awakening also saw a new trailer. The new cinematics are very reminiscent of the Gamecube and Wii games but the gameplay appears all new, a sort of hybrid of the console versions with the handheld style. It launches in April in Japan, hopefully to hear more on the game from NoA before that time!

Nintendo Direct launches Rune Factory 4 Trailer

Although it doesn’t feature any gameplay shots, the trailer shows the quality of the cinematics come to be expected of the series, especially with the niche hit of Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny that was released last year. Rune Factory 4 comes out on the 3DS in June in Japan, with an expected NA release date to be set soon or shortly afterwards.

New Lollipop Chainsaw Trailer Revealed

Kadokawa Games has revealed a new Japanese trailer for Grasshopper Manufacturer’s upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw. The trailer features the game’s protagonist, Juliet Starling mowing down zombies with a combine harvester, beating them down in zombie basketball, and shooting all them crazy zombies down with a big-ass cannon. Yeah.

Anyway, Lollipop Chainsaw will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 24 (May 19 in Japan, and June 15 in Europe).

Project Zero 2 Coming to Wii in Europe

Nintendo has announced that Project Zero 2 (better known as Fatal Frame 2 in North America) will be coming to the Wii in Europe. There isn’t really anything else to say. As reported by Joystiq, the press release simply said Project Zero 2: Wii Edition will be coming to the Wii in Europe, along with Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir coming to the 3DS.

No North American release date was announced for the Fatal Frame 2 remake, but Spirit Camera has been confirmed for North American release, so one can only hope, right? RIGHT?!

Gearbox Drops New Borderlands 2 Trailer

And out of nowhere - a new trailer for Borderlands 2! Along with the trailer, Gearbox has also announced that the game will be coming at you on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC starting September 18 (September 21, internationally).

New Multiplayer Modes Revealed for Kid Icarus: Uprising

Nintendo has announced some new multiplayer details for Kid Icarus: Uprising. Take a look:

Light vs. Dark: ”Team up with other players in Light vs. Dark multiplayer mode, in which two teams of three are pitted against one another. The ultimate goal is to empty the opposing team’s health meter, which transforms the last defeated team member into an angel. The team who defeats the opposing team’s angel wins. This unique multiplayer mode tests players’ ability to work as a team while keeping the match exciting as the focus constantly shifts from dealing out damage to protecting the team angel.”

Free-for-All: ”In this mode, up to six players (including CPU players) combat each other in a winner-takes-all match. Winners are determined by high score, heavily influenced by both the number of kills and the number of deaths.”
Match Set-up: “Both Light vs. Dark and Free-for-All multiplayer modes are playable through local wireless play or online for players with broadband Internet access. CPU players will fill out the roster if there are fewer than six players in a match. Duration of the match, CPU difficulty, weapons and team handicaps are all customizable prior to beginning a multiplayer battle.”
Weapons and Weapon Fusion: ”The wide variety of weapons a player has collected in single-player mode can be used during multiplayer matches. Players can also earn additional weapons as rewards in multiplayer play. Players can choose set combinations of weapons and powers before entering into a match. This provides further incentive for players to continue collecting different and more powerful weapons as they play through the single-player campaign. Players can also fuse weapons together at the Arms Altar. Fusing two weapons will result in a single, more powerful weapon that retains some of the key benefits of each, giving players the ability to customize weapons to match their play style. Fused weapons can also be used in multiplayer matches.”
StreetPass: “Through the StreetPass functionality of the Nintendo 3DS hardware, players have the ability to share one of their weapons with otherKid Icarus: Uprising owners. The selected weapon is turned into a Weapon Gem. Shared Weapon Gems can be converted into real weapons by paying Hearts. Players can also fuse Weapon Gems together by paying Hearts to create a more powerful Weapon.”
