PS Vita Coming in 2012 for North America and Europe
Sony VP Kazuo Hirai says that Sony’s new handheld, the PlayStation Vita, won’t be making its way to North America and Europe until early 2012. The system will be launching in Japan by the end of 2011.
Hirai also had this to say about Sony’s Nintendo rivals [via.]:

“We packed so much into the device and made it very affordable. There is no need to lower the price just because somebody else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to lower their price.”

The PS Vita will go for $249 for the Wi-Fi version, and $299 for the 3G version.
